Aman resorts have always been at the forefront of luxury experiences and adventures, and they have once again raised the bar with the launch of Amandira. The two masted traditional Phinisi vessel, which launched for the first time in April, sails through the stunning waters of Indonesia to some of the most exquisite areas in the world.  Depending on the time of year, the expeditions will bring guests face to face with the worlds in largest lizards in Komodo National Park or to the remote waters of the Raja Ampat Islands, which is home to some of the most biodiverse diving sites.

The ship represents a fusion of the traditions of the ancient Indonesian spice trade with state-of-the-art amenities. While designed to look like a traditional fishing or cargo ship, the Amandira is anything but. There are five guest cabins in total on the ship, which can house up to 10 guests, each with their own ensuite bathroom and many with their own private living spaces as well. A spacious teak foredeck acts as the main social area for guests, where they can spend relax in one of the many sun loungers, enjoy a cocktail from the bar, or take in the spectacular sunset views while enjoying a meal. Inside the vessel there is also a library, a secondary lounge area and an entertainment room.

The Amandira crew is made up of 14 people to ensure seamless service from start to finish. The staff ranges from a personal chef, to an expert diving instructor who can assist new divers earn their PADI certification, and even a masseuse if requested.

Amandira is especially popular for those who are interested in diving as the ships course leads through the remote area where the Pacific and Indian oceans meet. This world-class diving site is home to 15 mammal species, 1,300 fish species, and 75 percent of the world’s known coral species. For those guests who are experienced divers, the ship is equipped with cutting edge diving equipment, including Nitrox, which allows for longer dives so you will really have a chance to explore the majestic underwater haven of the Indonesian archipelago.
