When planning a destination wedding, an important question to ask right from the start – before even choosing which hotel to book at – is what locations are available to host your ceremony and reception at. The kind of atmosphere you’re looking for, your group size, and of course your footwear may all help determine which ceremony venue is the best for you. When it comes to the most exclusive adults-only all-inclusive property in the Dominican Republic, the Sanctuary Cap Cana has some incredible ceremony and reception locations available to utilize, and we’re so excited to show them off to you! One of the main reasons people choose to have a wedding in destination – particular in the Caribbean – is to take advance of the stunning beach. The first ceremony location you can choose from at Sanctuary Cap Cana is the Sanctuary Beach. Large enough to fit groups of up to 200 people, this venue is ideal for classically simplistic and elegant décor, so that the main focus and backdrop of the wedding can be the crystal turquoise waters and bright blue sky.
Not every couple wants to get married in the sand though, and prefers a more lush tropical greenery setting. The Colonial Garden is the perfect place to host the wedding then, where your group of up to 100 people will be surrounded by nature. When it comes to wedding décor, nudes and whites are always in fashion, and greenery is very on trend in 2019, so this is an ideal location to host your wedding this year!
The most romantic location at the Sanctuary Cap Cana is named after one of literature’s most famous damsels in a love story – Juliet’s Balcony. When you choose this location, you’ll enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the ocean and property, and have a lot of privacy for your group of up to 50 people.
There’s one more incredible ceremony venue at this resort, the Blue Marlin Ocean Portico. This space can fit up to 65 people, and can be fully privatized. The eclectic hut with wood beam flooring, thatched roof, and pops of vibrant turquoise decor overlooks the ocean, will make you feel like you’ve floated away into another world.
Following your ceremony you might want to host a cocktail hour with some appetizers, fancy drinks, and maybe music or entertainment before dinner starts. The Sanctuary Cap Cana has three beautiful locations for you to choose from – the Cascada Pool the Casa Bella Patio, and the Steakhouse Love Terrace. The pool is wonderful if you want to maximize your time outside in the warm Caribbean air, while the Casa Bella Patio feels like an elegant castle ballroom, and the Steakhouse Love Terrace is reminiscent of an Italian garden. Each is stunning in their own way!
If you love the Casa Bella Patio for cocktails, great news – it’s a dinner location as well! With its glass ceiling covered in greenery, picturesque arches, and geometric designed flooring, the venue is stunning all on its own, and becomes even more magnificent when set up for a reception.
The Grand Colonial Terrace is a large space that feels very European, with its ivory, pink, and coral diamond flooring, backdrop of the palatial hotel, and open air feel. This is an excellent venue for larger wedding parties – up to 120 people – who want to dance and party the night away!
For more intimate groups, the Ocean Lounge is a perfect wedding reception venue – tables are set up surrounding the pool and overlooking the ocean so you’ll get a view of water on all sides. There is also the Lower Cascade Pool which is another poolside terrace, and slightly larger than the Ocean Lounge. With either venue, wedding parties will enjoy having their own space to mix and mingle, and the couple will be able to enjoy their first married meal with all their loved ones.
The largest wedding reception venues available are the Castle Ballroom, available for groups of up to 350 people, and the Blue Marlin Restaurant for up to 200 people. The Ballroom will give you the traditional feel of a wedding reception, with meal service and room to party and dance, but unlike older and outdated banquet halls, this venue has a futuristic interior design scheme with beams and arches overlaying the hall that look unique and interesting. The Blue Marlin restaurant is the same venue we mentioned earlier for wedding ceremonies – the palappa huts are quintessentially tropical, and are unlike anything you’ll find at home, with open air sides and incredible views.
No matter where you choose to celebrate at the Sanctuary Cap Cana, you are guaranteed to have a stunning wedding that your guests will never forget! For more information on ceremony and reception times and costs, please contact your Luxe destination wedding planner today!
