Congratulations to Stephanie and Jamie (and beautiful Dilyn), who married this summer in Turks & Caicos.
About Stephanie and Jamie
Bride and Groom: Have a beautiful little girl named Dilyn who was the most adorable flower girl ever
Occupations: They both work in broadcasting. Jamie is a Hockey Analyst for TSN and Steph is a producer for TSN Radio
How they met: Through work. Steph used to work for a show called Off the Record and they flew Jamie in to appear as a guest. He was 45 mins late and hungover…bad first impression! haha
What attracted Jamie to Stephanie: Her beautiful smile and friendliness (although she yelled at me for being late)
What attracted Stephanie to Jamie: He’s very charming and charismatic
What was the best advice you received? The day flies by too fast so enjoy every minute of it. Things will undoubtedly go wrong…take them in stride
Engagement story: He proposed on my birthday at my favourite restaurant in Toronto. Then planned a surprise engagement party with all my friends and family there.
The Wedding Day
Wedding date: July 12, 2013
Number of guests: 53
Wedding colours: white, blush, pale peach, grey
Stephanie’s most memorable moment: Seeing how emotional Jamie got when he saw me for the first time walking down the aisle
Jamie’s most memorable moment: Watching her walk towards me down the aisle
Advice to others: Don’t try to please everyone else at the expense of what you want. The wedding day is for the two of you and it should be the day you always dreamed of
Favourite wedding detail: The 4 post arch we got married under was the most romantic and beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. I also fell in love with ALL the flowers.
Most unexpected moment: the owner of the beach house’s two dogs wrestling each other on the beach in front of the groomsman right before the bridesmaids came down the aisle
Most romantic moment: Listening to each other say our own vows. And the moment right before the first kiss
Did you include any traditions in your wedding? Sand ceremony with our daughter
Honeymoon: Fiji
The day in three words: Happily. Ever. After.
Wedding Details
Ceremony location: Private beach villa
Reception location: Beaches Turks and Caicos
Why did you choose this location for your wedding? We choose the private villa for the ceremony and cocktail hour because it was literally the most beautiful spot on the island, especially at sunset, and because it was super private. I was worried about onlookers in speedos crashing the wedding if we did it on the resort beach.

Stephanie’s shoes: Enzo Angiolini
Jamie’s outfit: Light grey suit and white shirt, no tie

Jewellery: Diamond bracelet (gift from the groom), Tiffany pearl earrings (gift from my bridesmaids) and matching pearl bracelet
Bridesmaids dresses: blush knee length dresses, they all got to pick their own dresses in whatever style they liked
Groomsmen attire: Grey pants and white shirts
Wedding song: Falling Slowly (walking down the aisle) and How Wonderful You Are (first dance)
Signature drink: Moscow Mule
Favours: Donation to the Pancreatic Cancer Society in honour of Jamie’s dad who had passed away several months before

Is there anything else that helps tell the story of the day? We have never smiled so much or cried so many happy tears in one day.
Tell us about your experience working with LUXE Destination Weddings: I’m pretty sure we talked to our travel coordinator and wedding coordinator more over the planning months than we did to each other! Hahaha We had them on speed dial. Right from the start it was a perfect relationship! Everyone at LUXE was accommodating, thoughtful and genuinely thrilled for our big day. They worked so hard to ensure we had everything we wanted. They took our vision and made it into a reality and without them we would not have had the wedding of our dreams.
Wishing this beautiful couple our best wishes in their future together! Here are a few shots of their Trash the Dress session:
