Last month saw the reopening of Riu Playacar on the Riviera Maya following a 32 million dollar renovation. The resort, located on the shore of one of the most breathtaking beaches on the Mexican Caribbean, underwent a transformation to update all of its facilities in order to offer its guests the ultimate in vacation experience.
The newly remodelled resort features 396 luxurious guest rooms, a spectacular new lobby, lush gardens, a state of the gym, and three new pools. The redesign of these facilities was done to create a seamless flow into the stunning setting of the property, as the entire resort now open’s up to the Caribbean Sea; from almost every area of the resort guests will now be treated the spectacular sweeping views of the Ocean.
One of the things that makes Riu Playacar such an ideal location for a destination wedding is that these renovations have created a luxurious and modern property that can suit the needs of guests of all ages. Included in the redesign of the pools is a brand new children’s play area and activity centre. For those who are looking for a little bit more of a relaxing experience, the spa area has also been upgraded as a part of the remodelling making this oasis just that much more tranquil. And if a party is what they’re after, the neighbouring Riu Tequila is home to La Piñata where guests can dance the night away.
