Parrot Cay – Beyond Paradise
November 16, 2011
What does it mean to you to truly escape? Here’s one scenario: After a long and busy day at the office, do you dream of lying on a beach with the warm sun hugging your body, sipping a cool cocktail and enjoying some true peace and quiet? For most busy professionals, this is merely a daydream, but for soon to be honeymooners, a possible reality on the horizon.
While many Caribbean islands and hotels offer this respite in some form or another, Parrot Cay in Turks & Caicos is an Edenic escape in the real sense of the word.
As you step off the airplane and get transferred to the private ferry pier, you are instantly welcomed into a gorgeous setting. The beautiful boat ride to the Cay over turquoise water is approximately 30 minutes. As you near Parrot Cay, which sits on 1,000 unspoilt acres, you wind around the inner lagoon and get whisked away on a golf cart to your beach villa.
Parrot Cay’s elegance is so understated that it’s brilliant. You can check into your villa and virtually go unnoticed the whole vacation, if you wish. The staff are always on hand to help you with any request (small or big) with a gigantic smile.
The Como Shambala Spa is a not-to-be-missed part of the experience. The views from the treatment rooms are breathtaking, the wide range of holistic therapies are unique to the Caribbean, and the daily Yoga and Pilates classes are a perfect complement to this retreat. There is also a health focused spa food menu that is available throughout the resort with a focus on Ayurveda.
Parrot Cay is a gem for honeymooners, weddings and family getaways. A big two plus thumbs up!
