In 2016, Pantone announced Rose Quartz as one of their colours of the year and before we knew it the pretty pink hue was everywhere. Ever since, it’s been nearly impossible to scroll through an Instagram feed or walk through a store without seeing this various shades of pink, leading it to being affectionately dubbed as “Millennial Pink.” It comes as no surprise that pink has also been a leading shade in wedding trends over the last few years as well! However, the reign of Millennial Pink may finally be over with the introduction of what Man Repeller refers to as Gen Z Yellow.
Just as Millennial Pink was launched by Rose Quartz, Gen Z Yellow has been launched primarily by warm Canary and Mustard yellows. As this trend continues to grow, so will the number of shades being featured. From a soft butter yellow, to a vibrant lemon, this hue will be popping up in a big way and is sure to be a refreshing hit in many wedding palettes. It’s becoming a new favourite because of its vibrancy and close associations with warm, cheery thoughts.
There are many ways we’re seeing this hue incorporated into weddings – from bridal party accessories to invitations, table numbers, and floral…whether you’re adding small or big touches, this happy hue is bound to be a hit!
