How they met:  We went to public school together, have known each other for 34 years.
What attracted Shawn to Nancy: Her smile and beautiful eyes.
What attracted Nancy to Shawn: His intelligence and sense of humour.
Engagement story (as told by Nancy): We were out for dinner on my birthday with all the kids, Shawn’s parents and my mom when he ’kind of’ proposed to me at the table.  For some reason he looked like a ‘deer in headlights’ when he gave me the ring and he forgot to say ‘will you marry me?‘.  So his daughter Kyra took over and asked me to marry her dad.  She even put the ring on my finger….not the most romantic moment but it was actually quite cute!

Favourite wedding detail: The words of the minister, he talked a lot about friendship in a marriage.  His words were so perfect.
Most unexpected moment: Shawn’s two daughters and my daughter tearing up when they walked down the aisle.

Bridal party attire: Fuchsia dresses by Alexia Designs
Favours: Silver starfish wine stopper and a silver candy container with personalized tags.  All the guests name tags for the table were real starfish with their name attached, which they could keep as well.
Music: The DJ was my 12 year old son Tanner who kept all the guests on the dance floor most of the evening.  Our wedding ‘hit song’ was Gangnam Style by PSY.  Everyone at the wedding did the dance by the pool and again on stage in the lobby bar!
Flowers: White Hydrangeas, Lime Green Cymbidium Orchids, Fuchsia Freesia and Fuchsia Roses, wrapped in Ivory & Fuchsia Ribbon with a Swarovski crystal starfish

Fun Stuff
Astrological Signs: Nancy’s is Scorpio and Shawn’s is Capricorn
Type of Ring: Nancy’s rings by Valina Bridal and Shawn’s band from Spence Diamonds
Wedding Colors: Fuchsia and ivory

What was borrowed? My girlfriend’s new fuchsia satin shoes for some fun pictures
What was new? Everything!
What was blue? Nothing but Nancy’s eyes and the ocean!!
What did you put in gift bags?: We left welcome beach bags in the guests room with sunscreen, lip balm, tropical body cream, shower gel,  Koozie drink holders, Q-tips, gravol, a nail file and beer nuts.  As a token of our appreciation we took all our guests on a Catamaran Cruise two days after the wedding.  Another fun day!!

WHAT WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE LIKE WORKING WITH LUXE: We made the best decision to work with LUXE to plan our wedding. Our wedding planner, Laura Dixon was absolutely amazing! From the start to the end Laura was professional, knowledgeable and helped us so much especially with the communication between the hotel wedding coordinator and the other vendors.  She kept us on track with our budget, was helpful with her recommendations to my ever changing ideas on what I wanted! Our wedding was amazing, everything was exactly how we wanted it. Thank you so much!!!
