How they Met: (Groom’s Perspective)
Sianna and I first connected on Bumble, but our love story took an unexpected turn when a delayed response inspired me to find her on Instagram. Our first date was filled with nerves, especially mine, as evidenced by my fidgeting. Little did I know, Sianna had slipped away to the restroom to text her mom a review of our date, but accidentally sent it to me instead. Despite the initial embarrassment, the mishap broke the ice and set the stage for countless shared laughs and cherished moments. From that day forward, we embarked on a journey filled with love, laughter, and a healthy dose of serendipity
The Engagement:
The couple took a trip to Italy to visit Keegan’s relatives and within two hours of landing in Rome, Sianna and Keegan walked to the Trevi Fountain with his mom, sister, brother, and aunt Maria. Keegan originally planned to propose in private, but when the group turned the corner out of the alley and saw the thousands of people at the Trevi fountain, Keegan, with the ring in his pocket, knew that was the moment to pull the trigger. Taking Sianna down to the water, with his sister pretending to take photos of them, Keegan got down on one knee and proposed.

Morning Preparations:
On the morning of their special day, Sianna, her bridesmaids, and mothers of the couple departed the hotel to get ready in the serene wedding condo provided by the Villa. Greeted with mimosas, water to stay hydrated, and breakfast to fuel them for the day ahead, the bride and her ladies had a fun-filled morning of preparation and quality time.
Sianna was radiating beauty in a breathtaking lace-adorned strapless mermaid gown complete with matching elbow length lace sleeves. Standing only five-foot two, Sianna wore a pair of elegant white wedge heels to match her soon-to-be husband’s six-foot-four stature.
Dramatic makeup and a timeless curled up-do completed her wedding look, and while she was getting ready, she asked the girls to gather by the pool for some epic getting ready portraits.
While Sianna and the ladies were getting ready, Keegan and his groomsmen arrived at the Villa dressed for success, in sharp black and white attire. The morning was spent taking in the venue and enjoying some down time before the festivities began.
The First Look:
The Villa provided the perfect backdrop for the much anticipated first look. Sianna was escorted from the condo to the Villa where she eagerly awaited seeing Keegan for the first time. Waiting at the top of the grand staircase, Keegan was in awe when he first set eyes on his bride! Keen to give her a hug, he rushed up the stairs before the couple took some pre-wedding photos and admired the view of their dream venue from the Villa deck.
Fun Stuff:
Astrological signs: Sianna is a Virgo and Keegan is a Gemini.
Most romantic moment: Taking photos upstairs and enjoying a moment to ourselves before the festivities began.
Honeymoon Destination: Our honeymoon hasn’t happened yet! We’re hoping to go somewhere next year for our anniversary.
The day in 3 words: Romantic, intimate, and fun.
Unique Elements:
Throughout the day, Sianna and Keegan infused their wedding with unique touches that reflected their personalities and love story. From the custom décor and florals, to the intentional seating at dinner, and the delectable cocktails and menu choices, every detail was thoughtfully curated. A particularly touching moment was the personalized ceremony officiated by Sianna’s uncle.
Following the intimate ceremony, as their guests enjoyed a seaside cocktail hour, complete with mouthwatering drinks and canapes, the couple re-entered the venue space with a five-piece Mariachi band in tow! The guests had a great time dancing to the traditional music!
The bride also incorporated her design background into custom menus and place cards that welcomed each guest to their seat. These matched the theme of the wedding in rich tones and unique shapes and textures.
The Ceremony
A Villa La Joya wedding on their beachfront garden offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Caribbean Sea framed by gently swaying palm trees. With the natural surroundings of blues and greens, the rich toned reds, pinks, and oranges provided the perfect contrast, and filled guests’ eyes with awe at the site rounding the fountain lined walkway into the event space. Guests settled into wooden cross backed chairs, facing the two prominent floral arrangements where the couple would say their vows.
As the melodies of “Harvest Moon” and “Hotel California” faded, the wedding party began their entrance to “The Stable Song.” The bridesmaids’ jewel-toned dresses matched the florals perfectly as they danced down the aisle.
With the first look behind them, it was all smiles and good vibes when it was time for Sianna and her father to make their entrance. “Before The Sun” played in the background, paying homage to the brides’ Ukrainian roots.
Once the vows were done, and they were announced as man and wife, “Texas Sun” began playing as Sianna and Keegan made their post-ceremony exit.
The Reception:
One of the highlights of an off-site venue for your destination wedding is little-to-no relocation time to a new venue! The cocktail hour included a custom bar with the couple’s monogram, an elegant lounge set on one side of the pool, and Mariachi music in the background.
After dining on curated canapes including crispy rice with tuna tartar, arancini with pesto and parmesan cheese, and polenta with short rib and pickled carrots, The Beatles and Fleetwood Mac started playing as the guests made their way into the reception space.
After the excitement was building, the guests were escorted to the tented reception space to find their place for dinner. The wedding party and couple prepared for their grand entrances, with one more surprise lined up. Sianna let us know that the wedding party was to enter to a specific song, one the couple had not shared with their wedding party members. With a hint to it being something fun, and to give the guests a show – the wedding party’s anticipation grew. Finally, it was time to join the guests, and the music began.
As the familiar White Lotus theme song began to play, the wedding party’s faces went from shock to delight as they began to make their entrances, setting the tone for the couple’s grand entrance!
The wedding party ignited excitement with their White Lotus inspired entrance, paving way for Sianna and Keegan’s grand entrance to “Chinatown” by Bleachers and Bruce Springsteen, followed by the couple’s first dance to “Walls” by the Lumineers.
On the other side of the pool, the reception was elegantly set up with a clear topped tent. Under the tent, there was a long table and three additional tables for guests set with black chairs, a mix of rich toned florals in apothecary bottles, and brightly colored candles that set the tone for a romantic evening under the stars. Each place setting was adorned with stylish charger plates, gold cutlery, vintage glassware, and knotted napkins in a terracotta tone.
The Menu
The couple was very intentional with every element of their big day, as they wanted to ensure it was all about their guests and that the experience was flawless. Food and drinks were top of mind, with the couple deciding to hire MUMO Catering & Private Chef Riviera Maya to take on the task of providing delectable food and refreshing cocktails. They did not disappoint!
The Music
DJ Franco wowed the guests and kept the dancefloor full after dinner. The couple kicked off the night by dancing with their parents – Sianna and her father, Darvin first to “When You Need Me” by Bruce Springsteen, followed by Keegan and his mother, Julia to “Tougher Than the Rest” by Bruce Springsteen.
Both Sianna and Keegan share a love for various genres of music and wanted to ensure this was shown on their big day. To set the tone for the celebrations to come, “Mr. Brightside” began playing and it was during this song when the bride snuck away for an outfit change, coming back in a short white party dress, which she rocked on the dancefloor all night long.
After a night full of dancing, laughing, and cherished moments, it was time for the last song, “Copper Head Road.”
Feedback:
If you could give a few tips to newly engaged couples about planning a destination wedding, or advice for the wedding day, what would you say?
Location and venue matter! Guests are traveling a long distance to celebrate you, so ensure you are selecting a hotel or resort that has something for everyone! It’s only one day, so really soak every moment in, it goes by so fast! Enjoy yourselves and remember to celebrate with your guests. Lastly, bring a second dress to change into. Trust me, you will want a shorter dress in the heat.
Can you please tell us a bit about your experience working with your LUXE wedding planner and travel manager?
We had the most incredible time working with LUXE, specifically Tiffany. She was the most patient, helpful, and knowledgeable person to have in our corner, and we couldn’t have planned the day without her! She provided exceptional service, and we were so lucky to have her join us in Mexico to be there for our special day. Tiffany and I bonded over being perfectionists and that absolutely came through in all the details. I would highly recommend the LUXE team to anyone looking to plan a destination wedding.
Congratulations to the stunning couple and thank you to the talented vendors who made Sianna and Keegan’s vision a reality.
