Lulu & Veljko’s Real Wedding in Punta Cana

Upon meeting Lulu & Veljko we knew immediately they were perfect for each other. Not only do they look amazing as a couple, you can really see the love and respect they have for one another right away. Lulu, being a flight attendant knew that she wanted to have a destination wedding, and it worked well with bringing their friends and family together from different parts of the world. They chose Punta Cana as the perfect meeting place half-way. And they fell in love with Kukua Beach Club instantly, as it fit with their wedding vision.

On the morning of the wedding, Lulu, her bridesmaids and the couple’s mothers were picked up from the hotel and taken to Kukua’s stunning bridal suite to begin getting ready for the big day. Lulu booked Anna Nuet for their hair and makeup needs. After a couple of relaxing days enjoying Punta Cana, the excitement started to build as they spent the morning getting ready and enjoying this special time together.

Located on the world famous Bavaro Beach, Kukua Beach club boasts breathtaking views of the sea, and unbeatable sunsets. An elegant and modern venue, Kukua specializes in providing a menu of locally sourced seafood and chefs known for their culinary excellence. Paired with the stunning views of the ocean it really is the perfect backdrop to say I Do!

When choosing their outfits for the wedding day, Lulu and Veljko both made sure to incorporate their own personal style. Veljko opted for a Navy pants, light blue shirt and an ivory jacket. He tied up the look with brown shoes that matched his watch and belt. Going one step further, he also had custom embroidering on the inside of his jacket.

Lulu chose a beautiful V-neck and open backed silk dress, complete with silver adorned heels, and tied the look together with pearl jewelry. She also had a second look for the after party, keeping in line with her ceremony look, she stunned in a silver sequined dress!

For their ceremony, Lulu had a vision of a circular archway, filled with pampas grass and greenery – which she also wanted to pull into the reception to tie everything together. We completed the look with gold lanterns lining the aisle of ghost chairs complete with arrangements on the aisle lining chairs.

Lulu looked stunning as she made her grand entrance, joined by her parents to meet Veljko at their custom altar, with the beautiful background of the Bavaro Beach. She walked down the aisle to “Can’t Help Falling in Love with You” by Hayley Reinhart. Once they had said their “I Do’s” the couple exited the ceremony to “We Found Love” by Rihanna.

One of the first things we discussed when planning was having a fun elements for the guests throughout the event – as the guests arrived, they were greeted by the in-house DJ playing a mix of classic wedding songs, like “Marry You” by Bruno Mars, and party hits like “Crazy in Love” by Beyoncé. As the guests entered the ceremony, they were provided with a refreshing welcome drink of coconut water complete in custom engraved coconuts with the couple’s initials and wedding date. The coconuts also doubled as their place cards, with custom tags with each guest’s name + table number.

Following the ceremony, guests moved to the pool deck to enjoy a delectable menu including surf + turf skewers, octopus carpaccio and curry chicken, along with the couple’s signature drinks – the Mojito and Margarita. Guests were kept entertained with a custom photo booth + welcome table as the DJ played music in the background. The reception took place on the restaurant deck, in keeping with a bohemian theme, Lulu & Veljko chose dark wood tables and lots of greenery, lace and lanterns as the primary features of their reception decor.

Lulu and Veljko had a deep desire to make this day about the people most important to them, so they also had favours of Mamajama a local Dominican Rum for each guest, as well as custom cigars for the men to welcome them to their wedding.

After guests took their seats, Lulu and Veljko entered their reception to greet their guests for the first time as husband and wife. After dinner, the couple cut the cake, and the guests had their choice of a beautiful dessert table complete with a selection of mini desserts, donuts and of course wedding cake.

The group then returned to the pool deck for the couple’s first dance –The two shared their first dance to “Love Lies” by Khalid and Normani, with LOVE illuminated behind them and cold fireworks set to go off at the end of their dance – one of many surprises they planned for their guests. Immediately following the couple’s first dance, they were joined on the dance floor by a Crazy Hour show, complete with traditional Dominican dancers, fire dancing and more! This was the perfect transition into the after party, which ended with the entire group (including the bride) jumping into the pool!

Congratulations Lulu and Veljko, we wish you both so much happiness together!
