Two-time Olympian for the Canadian Women’s Soccer team Jonelle Filigno married her university sweetheart Russell with an elegant black-tie affair at the beautiful Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Resort. Their love story first began when the two met back at Rutger’s University. Years later on Valentine’s Day when Jonelle was travelling from Vancouver to Toronto, Russell surprised her by getting down on one knee as she came through the arrivals gate.

The couple planned their dream wedding on the stunning beach at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach in Los Cabos. The groom dressed in a custom tuxedo designed by Joseph Abboud and the bride dressed in the most perfect illusion back dress from designer Ghalia Lahav.  To complete her look, Jonelle also sported a pair of beautiful lace Jimmy Choo wedding shoes.

As the bride and groom got ready with their respective wedding party, the couple’s friends and family arrived at the gorgeous beach ceremony location. Gold tiffany chairs and a chandelier added a touch of elegance to the set-up. All eyes were on Jonelle as she walked down the aisle, and the moment she saw her future husband she broke into a gigantic smile. Tearful vows were exchanged and the happy couple said “I do” in front of the crashing blue waves of the Pacific.

Jonelle & Russell’s reception took place at the Sky Pool at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach.  As the sun set the couple shared a romantic first dance to Michael Buble’s song “The Way You Look Tonight,” surrounded by their friends and family. After a delicious meal, the happy couple cut into a three tier wedding cake with white Chantilly frosting adorned with blush and ivory roses to match the weddings colour scheme. The DJ kick started the party under stunning string lights as the couple and their guests danced the night away.
