Jen and Lawrence’s Destination Wedding in the Riviera Maya, Mexico

Occupations: Jen’s a Human Resources Recruitment Supervisor. Lawrence is a Team Leader in A/R Call Centre.  We started dating over 10 years ago when we were “kids” still in college.
What attracted him to her: Her sense of humor, and the way her eyes shone when she smiled or laughed
What attracted her to him: His kindness and his street smarts
Engagement story: Christmas Day, 2007.  I surprised her in the morning while she was waking up.  When she looked at me, I had the ring box opened.  I asked her to marry me, and she thought it was a dream as she was still half asleep.  She finally woke up when she realized it was real, said yes, and the rest is history.

Her most memorable moment:
Taking in all the beauty before walking down the aisle – the weather was sunny and perfect, the white gazebo overlooking the ocean, my sister and best friends in the world dancing down the aisle, walking down the aisle with Lawrence’s father and seeing Lawrence waiting there smiling.
His most memorable moment:
Watching her walk down the aisle with my father.
Advice to others:
Destination weddings are the way to go.  So easy, and so much fun!

Fave wedding detail:
Our beautiful reception dinner outdoors, overlooking the lagoon.
Most unexpected moment:
El Luchadores!  During our post reception dance, us and our groomsmen donned luchadore masks for some hilarious and unexpected good times.
Honeymoon:
Italy in May 2010

Exciting.  Beautiful.  Perfect.

Ceremony location: Beach Gazebo at the Grand Palladium Riviera
Reception location: Portofino Italian Restaurant, outdoor terrace
Bridal gown: Mori Lee wedding dress – spaghetti straps, mermaid style with lace embroidery and a ruched top
Bridal party attire: Ladies: strapless aqua flowing dresses & white Mexican/Aztec designed strappy sandals.  Gents:  White linen shirts with beige pants and white deck shoes
Groom’s outfit: Beige linen suit
Favours: Engraved silver photo albums personalized for everyone who attended the Mexico wedding with individual pictures of us with each person and of the entire week.
Music: Bridal party danced down the aisle to I Gotta Feeling by Black Eyed Peas.   Bride walked down the aisle to Angel of Mine by Monica (Our Song)
