We tend to see a lot of adult-only weddings, however these days we are also starting to see more and more weddings with kids included! There are so many fun ways to incorporate kids into your wedding, with endless creative and fun ideas to make them feel like special guests on your big day. We’ve included just a few of our favourite ideas below!
Table Décor for ‘Kids-Only!’ tables
Paper Tablecloths – Cover the kids table with paper that they can draw on throughout dinner to keep busy – incorporate glass vases with crayons and other jars/vases filled with easy craft items for them to use!
Candy Centrepieces – With centrepieces typically being the main focal point of guest tables, what better way to distinguish a kids-only table than with a centerpiece made up of only sweets!? There are many different candies you could use for the centrepieces, but we love the look of these lollipop and marshmallow centrepieces. The best part is you can match them to your colour scheme, and they’re sure to be a big hit with the kids!
Candy Bracelet Napkin Holders – Another fun touch to distinguish the kids table is to use something fun like candy bracelets as the napkin holders!
Activities to Keep Them Busy
Colouring Books – They say idle hands make for mischief, so keep them busy with a wedding themed colouring book!
Cards for the Bride & Groom – Another way for them to channel their inner artist is by giving them the supplies to make a card for the bride and groom. It will keep them entertained and act as a memorable keepsake from your wedding!
‘I Spy’ Game – This is a popular new touch at weddings for kids! Provide each kid a disposable camera along with a fun list of photos to capture. These little guests might even end up capturing some of your best candid moments on camera!
Kid-Approved Food and Drinks
Cupcake Decorating Stations – Kids love creating their own masterpieces, especially if it’s something tasty they can eat! Lay out a variety of different sprinkles and toppings – this is another easy way to keep them happily entertained!
Kids Mocktail Bar – Have a fun ‘Mocktail Bar’ set-up for the kids, complete with different juices, fun cups and crazy straws! They can create their own mocktails to participate in all of the toasts throughout the night!
Late Night Milk & Cookies Toast – We also love this adorable milk & cookie idea for the kids as a sweet treat after dinner…the adult guests might even end up sneaking some of these!
Goodie Bags – And last but not least, don’t forget to have little goodie bags for all of the kids! This is always a huge hit – who doesn’t love opening a little surprise!? You can even display them at the table with a single balloon tied to each, which again can be colour-coordinated to fit with your theme.
