About Jolene and Eddie
Occupations: Jolene works as a Clerk for the City of Brampton and Eddie is an Inventory Analyst, also for the City of Brampton
How they met (as told by Jolene): We initially met in high school in grade 9. He was labeled as the sports jock and I was an art geek. He walked past me every day and I would swoon and he didn’t even know I existed. I told my friends that one day I would be with him and they laughed and said I had NO chance. One day I dropped my art pencils and pastels all over the ground in front of him and he walked over and passed me without even blinking, I was still so infatuated with him regardless of his ignorance. In grade 11, I experienced a makeover from a friend and when I went back to school the following day I actually had a few boys arguing over who would date me! Eddie piped up saying that it was ridiculous of them to think I would ever date any of them and that they should just leave me alone. The swooning over him continued, but it turned out we were both too nervous to talk to one another. A few years after high school, when we were 19, my brother and I were at the mall and we noticed Eddie with his sister, whom my brother knew very well. I told him to go talk to her in hopes that I could get Eddie to finally talk to me. Sure enough we hit it off right away and spent endless nights after that talking, laughing and falling madly in love with one another. Guess it was meant to be!
What attracted Eddie to Jolene: Her confidence, passion, love and compassion.
What attracted Jolene to Eddie: His eyes, smile, sense of humor and his ability to make every moment fun and memorable
What was the best advice you received as a couple? Always work together as a team and never go to bed angry
Engagement story (again, as told by Jolene): During our first Caribbean trip together in Jamaica, we went on an excursion to Dunn’s River Falls in Ocho Rios on May 1st, 2012. When I was busy getting my water shoes on, Eddie had taken a friendly Jamaican man aside and asked the man to please let him know when the perfect time to propose was and he agreed to do so. We had a blast climbing up the falls – nearly fell a few times lol – so much excitement going on and we finally reached the last waterfall to the top of the falls, WHEN the Jamaican man brought me and Eddie to the front of the group, in front of the waterfall. I was so confused why we were heading to the front of the group and I looked back to see some disgruntled faces as we cut the line. I looked forward again to see Eddie… DOWN ON ONE KNEE!!! I was sooooo surprised!!
After 7 years, he placed a beautiful ring on my finger! He looked up at me with his gorgeous, sincere eyes and asked “Will You Marry Me?”. Surrounded by many screams and cheers from our fellow group members, I looked down as he opened the box and my eyes grew wide and my hands met my smile! All I could say was “OH MY GOODNESSSS”. Eddie grew confused and asked, “Is that a yes?!” Amongst the many laughs and cheers from the group below, I gazed into his eyes lovingly and replied “YES!! OF COURSE!!”, and after sliding the ring onto my finger, his lips met mine!!

Is there anything else that helps tell the story of the day? It was absolutely amazing, the ladies had breakfast at the Jellyfish while we were getting ready and the men were getting ready back at our hotel, Dreams Palm Beach, which was also amazing!
Tell us about your experience working with LUXE Destination Weddings: Wedding planning was extremely stressful in the beginning. We decided to go with LUXE to assist us in deciding on the perfect details for our big day! We started with Mandy, who was very helpful in finding us a desired location for our wedding. We were so pleased with our choice, and I was very particular with what I had wanted. We ended up going with Dreams Palm Beach, and decided to have our wedding at the Jellyfish Restaurant. Alexandra helped us plan our dream wedding from there on and it truly was our dream wedding. The wedding coordinator at the Jellyfish was let go a few weeks prior to our wedding and we became very stressed. However, Alexandra reassured us that this would not affect our wedding at all, as it will be just as beautiful with the new coordinators and it certainly was with all of her help. Christy was responsible for booking all of the guests a room at the dreams resort and was very cooperative with us in doing so. Every decision made was absolutely perfect, the décor was magical, and the restaurant was perfect!! LUXE really made us feel special and no dream was too big, in fact they encouraged us to dream big. The Bigger the Better! We truly appreciate everything that LUXE has done to make our wedding spectacular and we have heard nonstop about how AMAZING our wedding was! Well worth every penny!!
Does Jellyfish restrict guests staying at different resorts??
