Occupations: Stefani is a nurse; Chev is a construction and safety officer and business owner.

How you met: They met at Cactus Club in Langley, British Columbia where Stefani was a server – Travis’ table, in fact.

What attracted him to her: Stefani’s fiery red lipstick.

What attracted her to him: Stefani liked that Travis had a dog, so she agreed to go on a date with him to the dog park. It didn’t hurt that she also thought he was cute.

Engagement Story

We had just gotten a puppy (named Taz) and about a week later, Chev came home with a new collar that had quite the surprise added to it – a ring hiding behind the dog tag! I didn’t notice it at first, but after nervously asking me how I felt about the new collar (because I had no idea he was proposing), he then picked up Taz and asked me if I wanted to be a forever family. I cried for a good five minutes before I could even say yes. It was such a special moment, and I was very surprised!

The Wedding Day

Wedding date: April 18, 2024

Number of guests: 69

What was your most anticipated part of the day? I was really excited for our reception. Our entrance song was “Firework” by Katy Perry and as we walked in, cold fireworks went off – it was such a fun touch.

Did anything unexpected happen? If so, what was the outcome? Yes! The resort downloaded all our ceremony songs but unfortunately, my aisle song didn’t make it onto the playlist. It all worked out in the end – I walked down to a different version of the same song. Plus, everything else was perfect so I wasn’t upset. Another unexpected moment was when we were dancing; Chev kicked off his shoe and it landed on top of the grand palapa. One of the staff members had to climb up and grab it for him.

Her most memorable moment: Hearing the vows Chev prepared, they were so beautiful. It was incredible to hear his thoughtful words, and he did such a good job! Dancing during our reception was also a lot of fun.

His most memorable moment: Saying our vows and tying the knot.

What advice would you give to future couples for their wedding: Enjoy every minute of your big day; it goes by so fast. Also, you don’t need to sweat the small stuff, everything will come together perfectly, and sometimes better than you could have imagined. We also recommend securing an amazing photographer – the moments they capture are something you and all your loved ones can look back on forever…it’s worth it.

Were you nervous? How did you squash the nerves? No, I wasn’t nervous at all. I felt like there was nothing to be nervous about since I was about to marry my best friend in stunning Cancun, surrounded by the most amazing people.

What was the biggest surprise on your wedding day? How beautifully everything came together. You can pick your décor and have a vision in mind, but you’re not able to see everything come to life until the day of.

The Wedding Day Details

What was your wedding inspiration? We were inspired by Sofia Richie’s wedding, which was a blend of classic elegance and a hint of boho. We did this by incorporating white flowers like baby’s breath and neutral colors.

What song did you walk down the aisle to? I was supposed to walk down the aisle to “Simply the Best” by Billianne, but ended up walking to “Simply the Best” by Brooklyn Duo.

Wedding song: Our first dance was to “Best Friend” by ADMT.

Tell us about some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them. Tiffany, our LUXE wedding planner, found the most beautiful arch for the wedding ceremony. We repurposed the arch and used it as the backdrop for our photo booth, along with a “Simply the Best” sign. Our tables looked stunning with cheesecloth table runners, rattan placemats, and bottles with single flowers spread along the edges of the table.

Signature drink(s): Spicy watermelon margarita and a grapefruit paloma.

Honeymoon destination(s): Italy and Greece.

The day in three words: Magical, stunning, surreal…I could go on.
