Kim-and-Kayne-Just-Married-Jackets1Nothing is more exciting than a celebrity wedding. With the upcoming nuptials of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just a month away, we have been thinking about some of the most famous weddings from the past. Check out the swoon worthy celebrity weddings below, and our suggestions on how you can use the key elements from their weddings for your own special day!

Our first couple is Lady Diana Spencer and Charles, Prince of Wales. Who could forget this incredible affair? Here are the main details from the royal wedding that took our breath away.

MainWedding Date: July 29th, 1981

Venue: St Paul’s Cathedral. London, United Kingdom

Colors: White, scarlet, black, palace blue, and gold. We’re obsessed with this color scheme, and we know that you will be too. To replicate this regal style, we suggest gold tiffany chairs, palace blue napkins, red floral centerpieces, and gold cutlery.

Table SettingsDress: Lady Diana wore a silk taffeta wedding gown, decorated with elegant lace, hand embroidered sequins and 10,000 pearls. The most memorable piece from her dress was the 25 foot train made of taffeta and antique lace. If you loved Lady Di’s look, we suggest that you mimic the long train and vintage lace details. To add to this look, pair the dress with a delicate pearl belt or pearl headpiece.

Dress (2)Cake: Lady Diana and Prince Charles went all out when it came to desserts with a total of 27 wedding cakes! If you have a sweet tooth just like the royal couple, we suggest 3 to 4 small wedding cakes with different flavors and designs.

CakesBouquet: Lady Diana’s bridal bouquet was a beautiful cascading arrangement made with white Gardenias, Stephanotis, Odontolglossum Orchid, Lily of the Valley, Earl Mountbatten Roses, Freesia, Veronica, Ivy, Myrtle, and Trasdescantia. To recreate these stunning florals, we suggest a cascading bouquet made with white Phalaenopsis Orchids.

BouquetLet’s move on to one of our all-time favourite Hollywood couples, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. Just like the rest of their relationship, these two love birds chose to keep their wedding very private. Much to our dismay they have kept the majority of their photos hidden from the public, but don’t worry, we have all the details for you to easily replicate this gorgeous wedding!

MainWedding Date: September 9, 2012.

Venue:  Boone Hall Plantation. Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, which you may recognize as the house from The Notebook.

Cat62-5-Long-Shot-Front-Gate-House-LPGColors: Rose gold, pale pink, ivory and greenery. If you love these colors, we suggest ivory linens and napkins, natural cross back chairs, rose gold cutlery, and greenery centerpieces with touches of pale pink and ivory florals.

Dress: Lively wore a couture ball gown made by Marchesa. The dress was made with silk and tulle with a fitted bodice, illusion crystal beading, and rose gold embroidery. To match Lively’s vintage-chic style, try a rose gold and crystal hair comb, rose gold wedding shoes, and a crystal beaded fitted bodice.

Dress and ShoesCake: Lively and Reynolds had a decadent dessert table with macarons, cupcakes, mini cakes, s’mores bars, and to top it all off, a four-tiered vanilla and sour cream cake with peach-apricot preserves and earl grey milk chocolate. We suggest having a complete dessert table with your all-time favourite sweets! Why not try mini pies, donuts, Rosé popsicles, truffles, and gourmet ice cream sandwiches.

Dessert TableBouquet: Lively’s bridal bouquet was made with Pink Jasmine, Andromeda, Dusty Miller, and Blushing Bride Hydrangeas. We adore these floral types, and definitely suggest adding Dusty Miller, Hydrangeas and Anemone to your bridal bouquet to stay on trend.

BouquetWhen we think of elegance, one couple in particular comes to mind; Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier III. Aside from her acting, Grace Kelly is known for having one of the most memorable and ground breaking wedding dresses of all time. Let’s dive into the details from this classy two day event.

Venues: The Palace Throne Room of Monaco and Saint Nicholas Cathedral in Monaco, France.

Dress: Kelly wore a wedding dress that will continue to be re-created for years to come. The simple elegance of this dress is timeless and will never go out of style. Kelly’s dress was made by Helen Rose of MGM and was given to her as a wedding gift. The gown was made with 320 yards of lace, with a taffeta and silk skirt, veil, and headdress. The other show stopping details include the high neckline with buttons down the front, long sleeves, and delicate pearls on her headdress and shoes. We suggest a high neckline or illusion neckline detailed with lace, a simple but full silk skirt, and either long or capped sleeves. To pull the look together, style your dress with a neat bun and pearl accessories.

DressColors: Ivory, yellow, and gold. We suggest yellow bridesmaid’s dresses, ivory linens, ivory centerpiece with minimal hints of yellow, and accents in gold such as vases, votives, cake cutter or chargers.

Bouquet: Kelly’s bouquet was simple and understated. Her small bouquet was made with Lily of the Valley and was slightly cascading. Try a modern take on Kelly’s bouquet with an asymmetrical arrangement made with greenery and simple small, white florals.

BouquetCake: There was certainly no shortage of cake at this royal wedding! A decadent six tier cake, the first tier was a replica of Monaco’s Pink Palace carved from sugar, and each tier to follow was a carved out moment in Monaco’s history. As most royal couples do, Kelly and Rainier used a ceremonial sword to cut the cake. To keep it traditional, try four tiers, all white fondant, white ribbon, and delicate white sugar flowers dancing down the sides of your cake.

CakeWe can’t talk about famous weddings without mentioning the Queen of social media and King of controversy, Kim Kardashian & Kanye West. Kardashian and West kept up with the clean and chic trend of all white everything for their wedding day.

Venue: Forte di Belvedere. Florence, Italy

veduta-aerea-del-Forte-di-Belvedere-1Colors: White

Dress: Kardashian wore a gorgeous custom designed lace Givenchy wedding gown. Our favourite details on her dress were the sheer sleeves and sheer sides, which were such a feminine choice for the reality star. Kardashian paired her simple and elegant dress with a thin pearl studded white belt around her waist. To emulate Kardashian’s style, choose a long sleeve sheer bodice and illusion neckline, with a fitted matte satin or crepe skirt. Pull the look together with a low or keyhole back, and a thin belt to match your personal wedding style.

KKW Dress BackBouquet: Kardashian and her bridesmaids did not have bouquets. Instead, the wedding couple went all out with an incredible white flower backdrop placed in front of them as they said their vows. We’re all for switching it up and love this idea! We suggest using white Hydrangeas and white Roses to re-create this look, or use pops of color to match your wedding theme. You can also move the flower wall from ceremony to reception so that your guests can use this for some Instagram worthy photos.

63e46c98f85f652547ca09cfa765f5a9The Finer Details: Kardashian and West had a custom made marble wedding table that was 224 feet long, with their guest’s names engraved directly into the table. To do this on a much smaller scale, use tiny marble octagon shaped place cards with each guests name and table number hand written in gold, rose gold or silver ink.

WallWe know without a doubt that Meghan and Harry’s upcoming nuptials will be nothing short of spectacular, and we can’t wait to see which trends will emerge from their wedding celebrations!
