Villa Manzu is located on a private peninsula at Peninsula Papagayo on the northern Pacific coast, in the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica. This region of Costa Rica is renowned for its tropical dry forests, abundant sunshine, and beautiful beaches with clear, warm waters. Host to seven national parks, Guanacaste is a nature enthusiast’s dream. Peninsula Papagayo has also become an internationally known retreat, as evidenced by the presence of the Four Seasons Resort, an Arnold Palmer designed golf course, the Papagayo Marina, and exclusive private residences. Villa Manzu, a notable stand-out among the private estates, boasts its own beach as well as providing access to the Prieta Beach Club, Golf and Tennis Clubhouse, and Four Season’s resort facilities.
Nestled on five acres, the grounds are laced with walking trails, overlooks, hammocks and seating areas, allowing guests to enjoy quiet time while soaking in the 180 degree Pacific views and observing the local flora and fauna. Indigenous flora attracts monkeys and a rainbow of tropical birds!
Privileged guests might choose to enjoy an evening cocktail at an outdoor bar near the pool. The heated infinity edged pool dramatically spills into 30 foot waterfalls which flow by a floating platform and the villa’s private spa. There is also a heated plunge pool near the home gym, sauna and steam room. Indoors, the large entertainment room provides a pool table, lots of space, and a fully stocked bar; perfect for entertaining. For the younger set, the playroom hosts a large screen television and games, while the home theater is ideal for familes to share some time together.
This unique villa was designed by architect Abraham Valenzuela to express beauty, open spaces, indigenous symbols and indigenous architectural influences. Balinese, Mayan, Thai and local influences are evident in Villa Manzu’s design and decoration. Interior spaces are ample. The easy flow into open spaces, combined with the use of numerous windows and glass doorways, blur the distinctions between indoor and outdoor living. Private entrances, private wings, and private terraces make each of the large eight bedroom suites an individual oasis; while the children’s room even includes a playroom, games, and movie library. An elevator lifts guests to the private office and entrance of the third floor master suite.
Villa Manzu is fully staffed and equipped with non-motorized water toys, transportation, indoor and outdoor games, and even an English speaking naturalist. The goal is to meet each guest’s desire, or as the staff proudly claims, to provide guests with “everything they didn’t know they wanted”. Villa Manzu’s privacy, spaciousness and all-inclusive services and amenities make it an ideal destination for large families, groups of friends, corporate retreats or special events. Villa Manzu is truly an unique, and uniquely comfortable, luxury villa set amidst the natural tropical beauty of Guanacaste, Costa Rica.Start Planning Next Hotel »
