El Dorado Royale Destination Wedding

The Wedding Day
Wedding date: November 26th, 2014
Number of guests: 32
Wedding colors:
Aqua and hot pink
Sarah’s most memorable moment:
Sarah’s dad giving her away to Randy.
Randy’s most memorable moment: The last song of the night, all of our guests formed a giant circle around us and we danced in the middle while everyone sang, here’s to us!
Advice to others:
Do a destination wedding!  Less stress and longer amounts of fun.
Favourite wedding detail:
Everything was perfect. We were so glad that we were able to spend a week with our closest friends and family that were there just for us.
Most unexpected moment:
There was a terrible snowstorm in Buffalo where we got 8 feet of snow in 3 days that shutdown the city for more than 5 days with driving bans. Sarah’s wedding ring was still at the jeweler and 2 of the bridesmaids dresses at the tailor.  We needed to get out and Sarah’s parents picked her up in a snowstorm and drove out to the airport to a hotel where it was clear so that we could leave to go to Mexico. Everyone was able to make it out and all the details that remained were handled by family who arrived after. All of the stories that came out of this week leading up to the wedding and how everyone got out of the storm, will be told for years to come.
Did you include any traditions in your wedding? Sarah walked with a shawl over her arm that has been worn for over 60 years for all the women in her family at their baptism, first communion and marriage.
Honeymoon:
Ambergis Caye, San Pedro, Belize
The day in three words:
Best Day Ever

Is there anything else that helps tell the story of the day?
It was so nice to wake up relaxed and we all had mimosas at the pool the morning of the wedding. The girls were all able to get ready in my room, and laugh and talk. Randy was provided with another room where the groomsmen and him could get ready and do the same. It was also great that in between the ceremony and reception, we took pictures but the guests could go back to their room or go get a drink together and show up at the reception after. Even after the wedding we all decided where on the resort to take the party to. It was a great day with so many memories.

Tell us about your experience working with LUXE Destination Weddings: Luxe Destination Weddings was very helpful in finding us the perfect resort as well as all the details for our big day. Everyone loved the resort. Cindy was very helpful in planning the details of our wedding and then giving me the right contacts after my planning time was done with her.
