RIU Palace Las Americas
Over the last couple of years RIU has been renovating and revamping a lot of their resorts, including the RIU Palace Las Americas – a newly designated Adults Only property – which could be the perfect setting for your destination wedding. The RIU Palace Las Americas has three wonderfully unique venues to hold your wedding ceremony at, each of which you can really personalize to reflect your own personal style.
The Rooftop Solarium offers an incredible birds-eye-view over the resort, with a view of the turquoise ocean providing the ultimate backdrop for your nuptials. Tiered seating will ensure your guests can see every detail of the ceremony, and the traditional aisle creates a stunning entrance for the wedding couple. By adding some personal touches like an aisle runner, floral arrangements on shepherd hooks, a ceremony arch, chair bows, etc. the Solarium will look like it was made just for your big day!
If you love the water, the Poolside Gazebo may just be the perfect ceremony location for you! This spot is totally unique to the RIU Palace Las Americas, and provides a refreshing atmosphere for the ceremony and photos, as you and your guests will be surrounded by water. The arch where the ceremony takes place is classically elegant in its simplicity, but also provides plenty of opportunity for additions to be made. A favourite for us is adding full drapery to the pillars, creating an eye-catching focal point for the guests to watch you get married under, and a truly stunning photo backdrop as well.
Of course, if you’re looking to make the most of your destination wedding by getting married somewhere you can’t typically find at home, what better location than right on the beach?! With the ocean as your backdrop, the white sand under your feet, and the rocky outcroppings lending that “au naturel” touch, the wedding ceremony of your dreams is at hand.
No matter which ceremony location you choose, your wedding at the RIU Palace Las Americas is sure to stun your guests, and leave you with a lifetime of memories and gorgeous photos to commemorate this wonderful day. Not to mention the fact that there is so much to experience in and around the resort, from the pyramids of Chichen Itza, and the turtle sanctuary, to Cancun’s downtown shopping centre and nightlife. You’ll have an easy time getting to the resort as there are tons of flights into and out of Cancun from all over the world, and can easily stop by the other RIU’s in the area while you’re there too. Overall, the variety of options and views offered at the RIU Palace Las Americas are definitely worth it when you’re having a destination wedding in Cancun.
