How they met: Rachel was visiting a friend in University and she introduced her to Matt.
What attracted Matt to Rachel: Her intelligence and sense of humour.
What attracted Rachel to Matt: He was confident and sexy, but also a bit shy which was sweet
Engagement story: They went out to their favourite restaurant to celebrate their fourth anniversary.  When they got home, Matt told Rachel to close her eyes and when she opened them, he was down on one knee holding a huge stuffed polar bear (her favourite animal).  Matt asked Rachel if she would marry him and then she noticed that the bear was wearing the engagement ring on its left paw.

Advice to others:
Bring a package to the resort with all of the wedding details so you’re prepared when you meet with the on-site wedding planner.  Then on the big day, forget all of the planning and just enjoy!

Fave wedding detail: The Sand Ceremony, it wasn’t something we planned but ended up being a really special part of the ceremony
Most unexpected moment: When the Mariachi band that was playing in the restaurant came over to the reception and played a few songs for us…they were so much fun and perfect for the setting!

Matt’s outfit: Off-white linen pants and shirt from Tommy Bahama
Favours: We left welcome bags in everyone’s room on the first day with monogrammed leather luggage tags and custom shot glasses

Matt knew Rachel loves vintage jewellery so he had a ring made that had some vintage detailing

What was borrowed? Rachel borrowed her Mum’s diamond and sapphire tennis bracelet (so that covered borrowed, old, and blue)

WHAT WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH LUXE: It’s so hard to know where to begin with a destination wedding.  The planners at Luxe guided us through everything and helped to make our day more perfect than we could have dreamed.  The only thing we wish is that we could go back and do it all over again!
