Miranda and Graham’s Destination Wedding in Negril, Jamaica

About Miranda and Graham
Occupations: Miranda is a Social Media Strategist, Graham works in the Mining industry.
How they met: We met in University on our first day of first year, but we didn’t start dating until our 4th year. We were friends first.
What attracted Graham to Miranda: She was chilled out, relaxed and liked to have fun.
What attracted Miranda to Graham: At first, it was because we had the same taste in music. Then, it was because he was incredibly fun to be with. A night out with Graham was guaranteed to be an adventure and he always made me laugh.
Engagement story: The full story can be found on our wedding website at www.grahamandmiranda.com on the Proposal page.

The Wedding Day
Wedding date: April 16, 2013
Number of Guests: 89
Wedding Colors: Coral
Miranda’s most memorable moment: Walking toward the wedding to head down the aisle with my Dad. We had a long walk from the resort sidewalk to the actual wedding aisle and it was an absolutely epic sight. It was exactly as I had envisioned it.
Graham’s most memorable moment: Seeing Miranda walk in from far away with her Dad.
Miranda and Graham’s advice to others: Don’t do any traditions just for the sake of tradition. If you don’t like it, cut it out. Be yourselves.
Favourite wedding detail: The steel drum band playing “Under the Sea” as our recessional song.
Most unexpected moment: When the groom’s father played voicemail and audio recordings of Graham when he was a little boy. Somehow he managed to keep recordings that were more than two decades old and managed to coordinate with our DJ to play them during his speech.
Most romantic moment: The reveal. We chose to do the reveal before ceremony. Even though you see each other every day, there’s something magical about the first time you see each other on the wedding day.
Honeymoon: Iceland and the South of France.
The day in three words: Fun, Unforgettable, Surreal

Fun Stuff

Astrological Signs (Miranda) and (Graham): Hers = Libra, His = Gemini
What was borrowed? My earrings! Borrowed from Emma, our wedding planner right before the ceremony. The earrings I bought for the wedding broke and she offered me hers!
What was new? The dress, the shoes, the necklace
What was old? A charm bracelet with charms representing different Scottish wedding traditions (I actually forgot to wear it at the wedding but it was there!)
What was blue? The tiny sapphires in the setting of my engagement ring
What did you put in gift bags? We didn’t have gift bags. Instead, we created a welcome letter tied with twine like a treasure map along with the custom made sunglasses. We also made custom-made bobbleheads for our wedding party.

Tell us about your experience working with LUXE: Luxe is amazing. With a guest list close to 90 guests, there is absolutely no way we could have pulled this off without our planner, Emma. We had a lot of requests and logistics and she helped us pull everything together seamlessly. She solved a hundred problems before they started and was extremely attentive, perceptive and accommodating. She took away all the stress and uncertainty which allowed us to focus entirely on the day without worrying about a thing.

Did you pay a portion of your wedding package before you left for Jamaica?
