Harrish Wed md-2Harrish Wed md-3

While incorporating a bit of the local culture in a destination environment has been popular for a few years now, a new trend is on the rise… brides and grooms are increasingly bringing their own personal culture and religion to the destination! LUXE has seen an influx of Hindu and Sikh weddings over the past few years, with groups going to the Caribbean to celebrate with the happy couple of upwards of 120 guests! (more…)

LUXE Hosts an Evening about Destination Weddings

DSC07957DSC07930

LUXE hosted an incredible event late last week where we invited in potential and existing clients in the Toronto area to drink pink champagne, eat some sweets and listen to a presentation about destination weddings trends for 2010.

Rebecca Elias, one of LUXE’s senior wedding consultants spoke about Eco Weddings, Fashion trends, and more to a group of interested couples, brides, moms and friends. Joined by the other ladies at LUXE for a lengthy Q & A period after the presentation, we hope that all the guests in attendance enjoyed themselves. We all had a fabulous time!

Hope you can make it to our next event!

We keep hearing from more and more brides that they want something different when it comes to their bouquets. The standard calla lilies or roses just aren’t meeting the unique needs of some destination brides, especially when the selection on some islands is less than abundant. Here are some tips on the “type of person” a destination bride often is… If these statements describe you, then start searching for your beach gown ASAP!

- You are happy know that only your near and dear friends and family will be in attendance. The large wedding is what you are trying to avoid. (more…)

Shannon and John’s Wedding – One & Only Ocean Club

embraceNewlyweds Shannon and John Kutz were recently married in Bahamas at the always classic and beautiful One and Only Ocean Club. They had such an intimate wedding and we are honored to share this experience with you.  Here are some details about this wonderful couple and their wedding experience.

Occupations: Elementary Teacher; President
How they met: At the neighbourhood Clubhouse
What attracted him to her: Her smile and how we had in common
What attracted her to him: His outgoing personality and how easy it was to talk to him
Engagement story: We had planned a trip to Aruba for our birthdays which mine is June 4 and his the 5th.  On June 3rd, John had made reservations for a table for two right on the sand and he had already let the restaurant know that he was going to propose to me.  Now have evenings like this was not out of the ordinary so I didn’t think anything romantically unusual.  While waiting for our cocktails we took a walk down to the water enjoying the sunset.  Then John got down on his knee and proposed to me.  This couple saw the whole thing and took all of the pictures and sent them to us.  It was very romantic and made us forget about our birthdays because we felt like we were celebrating something even bigger.
