Ceci Style – Color Me Mexico

frida

CeciStyle’s latest issue, Color Me Mexico, features Tara Soloway as the Mexico Destination Wedding expert. Read below to read our Mexico wedding tips…

What Ceci says about LUXE Destination Weddings:
“There is so much stress and emotion in planning a wedding or even a big vacation or your honeymoon. Especially for destination weddings, you’re taking on a whole different level of responsibility and commitment as you enter into this unknown territory. To me, it’s most important to work with a planner that understands your location and can expertly take over and guide you seamlessly through the entire process. Tara and her team at LUXE Destination Weddings are a rare combination of highly professional meets exceed-your-expectations courteous. They are warm, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. And best of all, they always know how to plan a great trip no matter where you want to celebrate in the world!” – CECI JOHNSON

Areej & Noor’s Wedding – Riviera Maya, Mexico

web29Congratulations to Areej and Noor on their recent nuptials in Mexico! With Zanette onsite as their wedding planner, and Anne taking care of the travel details, this gorgeous couple celebrated to the beat of a Mexican drum, while honouring their Arabic roots. Please check out some of their gorgeous photos courtesy of Melinda Le’ Photography.

And here’s a unique account of the wedding as told by the fabulous, Melinda Le’…

“After an AMAZING night at the Rehearsal Dinner, we woke up rearing to go for what I knew would be a beautiful day on the Mexican Riviera. Instead, what we woke up to was RAIN, RAIN and MORE RAIN!!! There’s one thing that I’ve learned in my tenor of being a wedding photographer and that is YOU CAN NEVER CONTROL OR TRULY PREDICT THE WEATHER!!!

Areej and Noor were calm and collected as they noted the torrential storms upon us. I have to admit, I was probably a little more heartbroken then they were, as I had previewed the GORGEOUS beaches, the day before and had mapped out just where I would photograph their formal portraits but as I said before Mother Nature has a mind of her own and she said RAIN! So the old analogy came back to me … what do you do when you’re given lemons …. MAKE LEMONADE and that’s just what we did!

The Riviera Maya – Destination Wedding hotspot

Mimmo+Naz

Call it the destination du jour: the Riviera Maya really is a hot spot for weddings. Despite much of the flack Mexico has seen in the past few months (from the H1N1 spread to more), this area has grown in leaps and bounds with a number of luxury brand hotels popping up on this stretch of lovely Caribbean coastline. What started as an offshoot of the popular Cancun strip has turned into a sophisticated locale filled with options for every budget. From high-end boutique villas once owned by royalty to chic eco-shacks on the beach—just sorting through the options can be a time-consuming and confusing task if you’re unfamiliar with the territory.

Playa del Carmen, roughly the centre of the action between Cancun and Tulum, is a thriving city with a not-too-distant past as a small fishing town and artist colony. I’ve had countless conversations with my father about Playa, which was once the place to catch a ferry to Cozumel. Wow—look how far it’s come! It was only a few years ago that I remember walking along 5th Avenue watching a Starbucks being built, and I woke the next morning to see it fully operational.

When it comes to DW planning, here’s why the Riviera Maya works: first, ease of travel. Flights to the Cancun airport are frequent and direct from most major cities in North America. Why not make it easy for your guests to get to your wedding? And this location is easy. Trust me, guests will sing your praises for picking a simple to get to destination! Secondly, hotel options. From large all-inclusive-style properties with 15 restaurants and mini Mayan architectural replicas on-site to four-bedroom boutique inns that shut off the power when the sun goes down (for all you eco-conscious couples), name your style and budget and there’s a good chance we can find you something you like!  (more…)
