The Wedding Day
Wedding date: April 1, 2015
Number of guests: 28
Wedding colours:  Ivory, Navy Blue, Dark Purple
Andrea’s most memorable moment: Having to Skype the wedding to mom and dad at a hospital back at home. Mom fell and broke her knee 2 days before the wedding in DR and had to fly home for medical treatment.
Joseph’s most memorable moment: Seeing her walk down the aisle!
Their advice to others: The show must go on! No matter what happens, put a smile on your face and make amazing memories. At the end of the day the most important thing is that you will be married!
Favourite wedding detail: The Chuppah right on the beach!
Most unexpected moment:  The extra ‘guests’ that watched the wedding from the beach. When it was all over there we so many cheers and congratulations shouted out. It was amazing!
Most romantic moment: Our first dance! It was on the beach, at dusk, with the waves lapping the shore in the background. Surreal and ever so romantic!
Did you include any traditions in your wedding?  Yes. We included the Greek ‘Stefana’ tradition. This is basically the crowning of the king and queen of the home.
Honeymoon:  Excellence Punta Cana – what an amazing resort!
The day in three words: Best. Day. Ever.

Wedding Details
Ceremony location:  Royalton Punta Cana – Main Beach
Reception location:  Royalton Punta Cana – Diamond Club Beach
Why did you choose this location for your wedding?  We wanted a resort that could accommodate both the ceremony and a private beach reception. We chose Royalton because it was a newer resort with a modern feel that we both really enjoyed, and it had an amazing beach!
Andrea’s gown:  Julietta by Mori Lee
Andrea’s shoes:  White Birkenstocks, but in reality mostly barefoot 🙂
Joseph’s outfit:  Linen Shirt and Pants by Nautica, with a cool blue vest.
Type of rings:  White Gold – Simple Band for Joseph, Band with diamond row for Andrea
Jewellery: White gold and diamond anchor pendant for the bride
Wedding song:  Everlong – Foo Fighters
Signature drink: Mojitos!
Music:  We created play lists since our taste in music isn’t of the normal fare. We created one for while people were sating themselves before the ceremony, one with the music for the ceremony, one for the reception dinner, and one more upbeat one for after the reception dinner!
Flowers: The resort provided the flowers. They were ivory, blue, and purple roses.
Photographer: Photoshop Caribe. This is the photography shop that operates out of Royalton. I don’t know about any of the other photographers but Ronnie is amazing! He did such an amazing job with our wedding photos.
Hair: Andrea’s hair was done by the Salon at Royalton. Joseph’s hair was done by nature 😉
Makeup: Andrea’s and Bridesmaid’s makeup done by the Salon at Royalton.
Catering: The reception was also done by the Royalton. No complaints there. The food was delicious and everyone greatly enjoyed it. Perfecto!

Tell us about your experience working with LUXE Destination Weddings:   Luxe was amazing to work with right from the start. As soon as we decided to do a destination wedding instead of going through matrimonial hell planning everything in the big city, we approached Luxe and made an appointment for our initial consultation. Unfortunately the groom had to work that day, so the bride and maid of honour went down and met with their amazing team. We quickly decided on Punta Cana as our destination, and decided on the Royalton shortly after. Planning after that was a breeze and the wedding went wonderfully!

We wouldn’t have been able to pull it all off without Cindy Tu at Luxe Destination Weddings. She was truly amazing to work with. I was a pretty busy bride-to-be, and a lot (pretty much all) of my wedding planning was done via email as night time was really the only time I had to sit down and go over everything. Cindy was patient, organized, understanding, quick to respond, and didn’t mind communicating mostly over email and photos. She understood exactly the ‘feel’ we were going for very quickly and her recommendations were on mark. She is a true wedding professional and helped us have a beautiful day. I would greatly recommend Luxe Destination Weddings, and specifically Cindy, to any future couple looking for an amazing destination wedding experience.
