Aisle Style – Victoria & Mike’s Wedding in Cabo San Lucas

One of the best parts of our job is having the opportunity to work with so many amazing couples and create the wedding day of their dreams. An integral part of this is learning about their love story, and what makes them unique. It’s those distinctive details that makes a wedding special and memorable, the little things that make it so “them.” We recently had the pleasure of working with a truly fantastic couple, Victoria and Mike, who’s wedding was so incredibly beautiful and it’s all because of the attention and care to those little “them” moments and details. Here is more from the lovely bride Victoria about how their day came together:

“I always envisioned a big, white wedding. We both have huge families so I always envisioned I would do it local and have something grand. Little did we know we would have a stunning intimate wedding in Cabo San Lucas! My now husband Mike talked me into having a destination wedding because we love to travel. I told him if he could find me a place then I would consider it. He fell in love with Pueblo Bonito Pacifica because of their beautiful golf course and when we looked into the hotel it was exactly what we wanted- gorgeous design, smaller luxury resort, adults only, and good restaurants.”

“My colour palette was white, yellow and rose gold, with pops of deep maroon. When we decided to have a destination wedding I knew exactly the look I was going for. I wanted an earthy, bohemian, romantic vibe. I wanted unique aspects and some elements that people had never seen before. My ring is rose gold and it was kind of the starting point of the inspiration for our wedding. We ended up with all natural tones, a boho vibe but with a modern twist.”

“My gown was Tara Keeley designed by Lazaro from Pearl Bridal House in Port Credit. I shopped around at 3 or 4 stores and knew that I was looking for something form fitting, crepe material, and simple but just enough detail. As soon as I put it on I knew it was the one, it was so me. Intricate lace on top and form fitting with a deep open back, my favourite feature of the gown.”

“I always knew I wanted a light colour for my bridal party. I wanted something clean lined and chic and we decided to go with Show Me Your Mumu dresses for the girls. They were all different styles so each one of my girls’ personalities could shine through. One of my favourite accessories was my head piece made by Dina at EleganceAtHand, so I had the girls pieces made as well to tie in the boho look.”

“For the boys, we had Mike’s suit custom made by the Dirty Inc and the boys pants custom made by them as well. We picked a light cream colour for a clean look. Mike gave his boys navy swims boat loafers and they all wore them to tie together the look.”

“For my flowers, I wanted an easy, thrown together, wild look. We used local flowers from Mexico and the bouquets were perfection. They were a mix of white floral, touches of deep maroon, and greenery tied together with white and cream ribbon.”

“My favourite moment was walking down the aisle to my now husband, Mike. Seeing all my friends and family and our vision of the ceremony space come to life was an amazing feeling. Our handwritten vows to each other were my favourite part of the whole day.”

“I decided to do a lot of the calligraphy, which in the moment of doing it, I thought what did I get myself into? But I loved how it turned out so much. I wrote my own place cards on agate stones, and bought and cut plexiglass to calligraphy my signage. Having my personal touch on the design aspects of our wedding was special. I put a lot of love into making my signage, and I got wonderful compliments for the personal touch.”

“Our favours were given out earlier in the week at our welcome bonfire event. They were personalized monogrammed towels given to each guest from Peshtemal Towel on Etsy. They were a hit and were used for the nights on the beach, hanging out at the bar, and a throw over at the pool.”

“One piece of advice I would give brides is to make sure that both of your personalities shine through your day. Every detail was thought out by Mike and I and we did what screamed us- from the decor, to the food, to the music and overall vibe of our wedding. After having a destination wedding- I would tell every bride to just go for it! I have so many beautiful memories with my favourite people I will never forget.”

Stay tuned, because next week we’ll be sharing more gorgeous details from Mike & Victoria’s wedding in beautiful Cabo San Lucas!
